Providing Real-Time, Continuous Information to Help Achieve a More Effective Dialysis Treatment
The CLiC device continuously and non-invasively measures a dialysis patient's hematocrit and oxygen saturation in real-time during a dialysis treatment. In addition, the CLiC device calculates the percent change in the dialysis patient's intravascular blood volume. The information provided by the CLiC device allows the caregiver to make real-time interventions during the dialysis treatment (e.g. increase or decrease the ultrafiltration rate) in order to remove the maximum amount of fluid at the most tolerable rate for the patient. As a result, the CLiC device can help the caregiver achieve a more effective dialysis treatment.
